Azad Engineering's IPO is opening for investors next week, check what the price band

Next week, Azad Engineering, which is based in Hyderabad, is launching its IPO for investors. The company is planning to raise Rs 740 crore through this IPO. The IPO of the company will open on 20 December 2023. Let us tell you that Azad Engineering is a 15-year-old company.

The company has fixed the price band of this IPO at Rs 499-524. The company will issue an issue of Rs 740 crore in its IPO. This IPO includes Rs 500 crore of Offer for Sale (OFS) by external investors. The company's Chairman and Managing Director Rakesh Chopdar told PTI that the company will raise Rs 240 crore through its IPO.

Rakesh Chopdar says that external investors in the company include the Piramal Structured Credit Opportunities Fund, which will sell shares for Rs 261 crore. It had invested Rs 160 crore in August 2022. Apart from this, DMI Finance had taken the firm's stake in July 2021. The company will sell a 1.2 percent stake which is approximately Rs 34 crore.

The company will sell shares worth Rs 204 crore in OFS, after which its stake in the company will reduce from a pre-issue holding of 78 percent to 68 percent.

The company will use the funds raised from this IPO to fund its Rs 280 crore expansion by setting up two units at the end of the next financial year and to repay/prepay loans of about Rs 90 crore.

Let us tell you that the company has external investors in the form of HNI (High Net Worth Individual). The company's external investors are many stars like Sachin Tendulkar, PV Sindhu, and Saina Nehwal.

Chopdar said that even after the IPO, the company will continue to have external investors in the form of HNIs (High Net Worth Individuals), including sports stars like Sachin Tendulkar, PV Sindhu, and Saina Nehwal. These HNIs and employees together will hold about a 12 percent stake in the firm.

The company derives more than 80 percent of its revenue from exports to 15 global markets. In FY21, its topline was Rs 122.7 crore, from which it earned a net income of Rs 37 crore.

Revenue increased to Rs 194 crore and net income to Rs 42 crore in FY2012. In the last financial year, the company's revenue increased to Rs 251 crore and net income stood at Rs 79 crore. The company's whole-time director Vishnu Malhani said its revenue reached Rs 158 crore and profit Rs 29 crore in the first six months of the current financial year. In the energy sector, the company has international customers such as Siemens, GE, Honeywell, Mitsubishi, Eaton, and Mann.
