Big news from Cricket Australia, it is reported that Cricket Australia is now going to demolish the Gabba ground where the Indian team created history by breaking Australia's pride. As per the CA report, following the 2032 Olympic Games, the iconic Gabba will be demolished and cricket will shift to a new 60-thousand-seat stadium in the Victoria Park precinct of Brisbane. Queensland Premier David Crisafulli on Tuesday 25 March released new plans for the Olympic Games infrastructure, with cricket in the spotlight.

Cricket Australia has issued a statement saying that the decision to demolish the iconic Gabba and build a new stadium gives certainty about the venue and scheduling. Also allows them to ensure that Brisbane can effectively host cricket.

CA also said that we have strongly advocated building a stadium in Victoria Park along with Queensland Cricket, AFL, and Brisbane Lions and cricket will play a major role in delivering long-term benefits to cricket fans and the people of Queensland from this important investment.

Crisafulli said that Brisbane needs a new stadium to host the Olympics. Gabba is now in the last phase of its life. It has not been maintained properly. We need a stadium to host a great show and this is an opportunity for legacy sports.

The first Test was held in Gabba in 1931. So far 67 matches have been organized here. Gabba also recently hosted a Test during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which ended in a draw.

The Indian team has memories associated with Gabba. In January 2021, India shattered Australia's pride by registering a historic win here. Before that, Australia's team was invincible in Gabba, but India stopped its victory chariot by winning by three wickets.

Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur played an important role for Team India in that Test. These young players did a miracle that even the world's biggest legends could not do.
