Atal Pension Yojana: Government will give 5000 rupees every month, you will have to invest only a small amount
For those who dream of getting pension after retirement, the central government is running the Atal Pension Yojana since 2015. Under this scheme, if you want a pension of Rs 5000 every month, then you will have to invest only Rs 1454 per month.
Taking care of the socio-economic security of the employees after their retirement, the Central Government is running the Atal Pension Yojana in the country, in which you can get up to Rs 5,000 per month after a certain age.
The trend of people is increasing rapidly towards this scheme of the government. According to the recently released data by the government, in March 2023, the total number of members of the National Pension System (NPS), NPS Lite, Atal Pension Yojana has increased to 624.81 lakh.
The Atal Pension Yojana (APY) was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the year 2015, with the objective of providing social security to the employees of the unorganized sector and providing financial assistance of Rs 5000 per month after the completion of 60 years of age.
To get a fixed amount in the Atal Pension Yojana, you have to contribute a minimum of Rs 42 and a maximum of Rs 1454 every month till the age of 60 years. If you invest Rs 42 every month, then after the age of 60 you will get a pension of Rs 1,000 per month. On the other hand, depositing Rs 1454 every month will get a pension of Rs 5,000 after the age of 60.
To get the benefit of the scheme, the age of the applicant should be 18 to 40 years. You can start investing by opening a savings account in your nearest bank or post office and choosing the amount to invest on a monthly basis. After this, after the age of 60 years, you will be given a pension based on the amount invested every month.
The number of enrollments in Atal Pension Yojana has increased continuously since its inception. There is an increase of 20 percent in 2022-23 as compared to 2021-22. The total AUM of the scheme is more than Rs 28,434 crore and the scheme has earned an investment return of 8.92 percent since inception.
