Assam CM said – Women should get married before 30

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has advised women to become mothers at the right age. He said that the right age to become a mother is 22 to 30 years. Women should not wait too long for this. If she gives birth to a child after 30 then there are many medical complications.
The CM said this in a government program in Guwahati on Saturday. He was addressing people on child marriage and problems related to women.
CM Sarma smilingly said that women who have not married yet should get married soon. God has made our body in such a way that everything should be done within a certain age limit. He further said that not getting married at an early age and not having children at the right age is also the reason for increasing maternal and child mortality. That's why I would advise all women to get married before the age of 30.
The Assam cabinet has decided to book men marrying girls below the age of 14 under the POCSO Act. Also, those marrying girls in the age group of 14 to 18 years will be prosecuted under the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act 2006. Sarma says the decision has been taken to curb the high rate of maternal and infant mortality in the state, as child marriage is also one of the main reasons for it.
