Army's first 3D printed house in Ahmedabad: built in just 12 weeks with rapid construction technology

The Indian Army on Wednesday inaugurated its first 3D printed house unit in Ahmedabad. This house is a single storey. Military Engineering Services (MES) in association with MiCoB Pvt Ltd has constructed this new house.
It uses the latest 3D rapid construction technology. 3D-printed housing will rapidly meet the growing demand for housing for military personnel. It is a symbol of rapid construction in modern times. This construction will also give a boost to the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan and is also proof of the Army's commitment to the campaign.
3D printing is a technology of manufacturing, with the help of which 3-dimensional things are created. These things are made with 3D printers. An ordinary printer requires ink and paper, but with the help of a 3D printer, you can decide the size, colour and design of what you create. Once everything is decided, the data is fed into the machine and the robots do the work of preparing things.
According to the army, the construction of this house in 71 square meters i.e. about 765 square feet was completed in just 12 weeks. A garage has also been built in it. 3D printed foundation, wall and slab were used in its construction. The Ahmedabad-based Army's Golden Katar Division initiated its construction. Many such houses will be built.
The tallest 3D building in the world is in Suzhou, China. This 90 feet high building has 5 floors. This technology was first discovered in the world in 1980. Its discoverer was an engineer and physicist Chuck Hull.
