The cabinet meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Giving information about the decisions taken in the cabinet meeting, Union Minister Anurag Thakur was told that in the meeting, the cabinet approved the change in the rail land lease. The cabinet has approved increasing the lease period from 5 years to 35 years. Apart from this, it was decided to cut the fee for the Railway Land Lease (LLF) of railway land.
A decision has been taken to cut the LLF of railway land. The land license fee has been reduced from 6% to 1.5%. Now 1.5 percent land lease fee will be charged on the market value of the land. In this, the fee will have to be paid at the rate of Re 1 per square foot.
Anurag Thakur informed that amendments have been made in the land lease of railways to implement PM Gati Shakti Framework. More than 300 PM Gati Shakti terminals will be built in the next 5 years. This will create more than 1.25 lakh employment opportunities.
The land can be used for the construction of school buildings and hospitals in PPP mode. The land will be made available at a low cost to build a solar plant. The investment will increase with the longer tenure of the lease.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that under the PM-SHRI scheme, 14,597 schools will be developed in the country at a cost of Rs 27,360 crore over a period of five years. The way of imparting education in PM-SHRI schools will be modern, transformative and holistic. In which the emphasis will be on methods of discovery and teaching by teaching. The focus will be on modern infrastructure including modern technology, smart classrooms, sports and other facilities. Two model schools will be developed in one block. These will be set up both in rural and urban areas. A portal will be created for these schools. In states and schools will also be able to apply for the development of model schools.
