Apple has said that the problem in the rear camera of iPhone users will be fixed for free. The company has come up with a service program for iPhone 14 Plus users. Under which the camera will be repaired for free and users who have already paid to get this problem fixed will get a refund. This problem in the rear camera has been seen in some models of iPhone 14 Plus.
That means only the iPhone 14 Plus devices, manufactured between April of this year and April 2024, will get the benefit of this service. The company has announced that at no cost, the affected devices will be able to get this problem fixed from an authorized Apple service provider. Apple has also told the way to find out about this problem.
The company will require the customer's serial number to verify whether their handset is affected or not. Users who have already paid for the repair of the rear camera on the iPhone 14 Plus can also contact Apple for a refund.
According to the information given on the company's support page, a 'very small percentage' of iPhone 14 Plus units are facing problems in the rear camera. According to Apple, iPhone 14 Plus units manufactured between April 10, 2023 and April 28, 2024 may be affected. iPhone 14 Plus users can find out whether their iPhone is facing this problem or not by entering their serial number on the company's support page.
Under this program of Apple, if any problem is found with it, then it will be repaired freely. According to Apple, the service program will cover affected units for three years from the time they were first purchased.
Head to Settings, tap General > About, and then long-press the serial number, which will prompt a copy shortcut. The text can then be pasted in the field on Apple's support page for the service program for the iPhone 14 Plus.
As per Apple's support document, some customers have different problems with the iPhone 14 Plus, either a broken rear glass panel or for some other problem related to the camera. Apart from the free service program, the company says users will have to pay separately to get anything else repaired. Only this problem is being fixed for free.
