Tata Group is going to merge Air India and Vistara to increase efficiency in the operation of its airline. Tata Group has gone one step further in this. The merger proposal of Vistara and Air India has received approval from CCI. However, some conditions have been added to it.

While posting on the X platform on behalf of CCI, it was said that CCI has approved the merger of Tata SIA Airlines with Air India. However, this is subject to the approval of the acquisition of certain shares in Air India by Singapore Airlines and voluntary commitments proposed by the parties.

Vistara and Air India airlines come under the Tata Group. Vistara Airlines is a joint venture between Tata Group and Singapore Airlines. Singapore Airlines holds a 49 percent stake in Vistara.

Approval of this proposal was sought from CCI on behalf of Tata Group in April this year. In June, CCI sought more information about the proposed merger. The offer includes Tata Sons Private Limited, Air India Limited, Tata SIA Airlines Limited, and Singapore Airlines Limited.

Air India will become the country's largest international airline after the merger
