Veena George, Kerala's Health Minister, wrote a Facebook post. She stated that the person who recently arrived from the UAE had already been admitted to a hospital due to ampox symptoms. The minister urged everyone, including those traveling from abroad, to report any symptoms and seek treatment as soon as possible.
The health minister further said that after the symptoms were seen, the person has isolated himself from his family as a precautionary measure. He is currently admitted to Manjeri Medical College here. The person's samples were sent for testing and the report came positive on Wednesday.
