Another achievement of North-East Frontier Railway, the first goods train reached Nischintapur terminal of Tripura
Railway: The first goods train successfully reached from Teteliya in Assam to Nischintapur in West Tripura. NFR Chief Public Relations Officer Kapinjal Kishore Sharma said that a goods train of 11 wagons loaded with cement from Teteliya near Guwahati successfully reached Nischintapur terminal.

The North-East Frontier Railway (NFR) set another important milestone when the first goods train arrived at Teteliya in Assam from Nischintapur in West Tripura. The feat has been accomplished under the Agartala-Akhaura rail link project, which would boost textile transportation in the region and logistics efficiency.
NFR Chief Public Relations Officer Kapinjal Kishore Sharma notified that a goods train of 11 wagons loaded with cement from Teteliya near Guwahati arrived at the Nischintapur terminal successfully. It is considered a historic milestone in freight movement under the Agartala-Akhaura Rail Link Project. Although it was proposed to connect Nischintapur with Gangasagar station in Bangladesh, even after a successful trial in September 2023, it has not been made operational to date.
Along with this, Sharma said that NFR has achieved an important milestone with the successful deployment of the first freight train at Nischintapur Terminal. This milestone was achieved after NFR General Manager Chetan Kumar Srivastava approved the Agartala-Nishchintapur section for freight traffic, which was approved after a joint inspection by senior railway officials.
This new facility will reduce congestion at Jirania and other major places of Lumding Division in West Tripura and will further improve freight transportation. Additionally, regional economic growth will also be boosted through a reduction in transit time and development of railway infrastructure.
