Andhra Pradesh woman falls into sewage drain in Malaysia, rescue operation underway; CM Naidu gives instructions
A 45-year-old woman from Andhra Pradesh suddenly slipped into a sewer while walking on the footpath in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. The rescue operation is underway but the woman has not been found yet. The woman's name is Vijayalakshmi and she had come to Malaysia with her husband and son for business.
A 45-year-old woman from Andhra Pradesh has gone missing in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. Actually, she was walking on a footpath; suddenly, the ground collapsed. Due to this, she slipped and got swept away into the sewage drain.
She has been identified as 45-year-old Vijayalakshmi of Animiganipalle village in the Chittoor district. She was walking with her husband and son on the footpath when the portion suddenly collapsed. Her husband and son escaped falling, but Vijayalakshmi slipped and got swept away into the sewer.
Rescue operations are in progress by the civic authorities in Kuala Lumpur since then. Even as these operations continued till filing of this report, there was no trace of Vijayalakshmi, the officials said on Saturday evening. Vijayalakshmi was a frequent visitor to Malaysia and Singapore for her business.
Following the incident, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, directed the officials of APNRT Society to see that the search operation is carried out effectively. The Chief Minister himself, accompanied by HRD Minister M/s. Nara Lokesh, is monitoring everything going on in Hyderabad.
