Andhra mom tries to commit suicide by setting her two young daughters on fire
The woman allegedly took the drastic action because she was upset that her husband had left her.
According to reports, a mother in Chitoor, Andhra Pradesh, allegedly set her two daughters, who were 5 and 7 years old, on fire and attempted suicide because she was mentally disturbed after her husband left her. Lalithamma, a resident of Ramasamudram Mandal in Madanapalli Constituency, Chittoor district, has been named as the victim.
The woman is a Ramasamudram Mandal native. After her husband left, she had mental health issues. She then tried to commit suicide by setting her two daughters on fire. But girl was saved when the people saw her, according to a statement from the Ramasamudram Police.
The woman attempted suicide after setting her two daughters on fire, but was saved when neighbours saw her. Later, police responded quickly and transported the children who were fighting for their lives to a nearby hospital.
Police have opened an investigation into the situation and are currently investigating it further.
