Ajmer: RBSE's gift to 10th class students, facility of re-checking in mathematics, will start as a pilot project
Ajmer: RBSC has prepared to give a new gift to the students of class 10 this year. The board is now going to provide the facility of re-checking to the students dissatisfied with the exam result. However, at present, it has been limited only to the subject of mathematics. Let us tell you that till now only the facility of re-totaling was available to the students.

Rajasthan Secondary Education board is going to provide a new facility to the students of 10th standard in the current year. The students who are not satisfied with the exam result would now be provided with the re-checking facility in mathematics subject. The board has done it as a pilot project and at the moment, the project is restricted to mathematics subject alone. Depending on the reaction of the students and the outcome of the project, the plan to implement the facility in other subjects in the future shall be considered.
It is worth noting that till now the board used to provide only re-totaling facility to the students. In the process of re-totalling, only the total of the marks given by the examiner in the answer sheet is recalculated. If any error is found in the calculation, it is corrected and revised marks are given and a new mark sheet is issued. In this process, only the mistake in addition is corrected, not the evaluation of the answer. In contrast, the process of re-checking is more comprehensive. In this, after the student objects to the exam result and applies, his answer sheet will be re-evaluated. During this, it will be seen whether all the questions have been evaluated correctly or not and if any answer has been given less or more marks, it will be corrected. After this, a revised mark sheet will be issued to the student.
Board Secretary Kailash Chandra Sharma said that this facility has been started on the instructions of the Education Minister. This is a pilot project and based on its success and the response of the students, it will be decided whether it should be continued in the coming years or not. It will also be seen whether the facility of re-checking can be implemented in other subjects as well.
At present, this facility will be available only for Mathematics subject because usually there is the highest possibility of improvement in marks in this subject. Mathematics has clear answers and there is more scope for errors in evaluation, so the board has chosen this subject for the pilot project.
A total of 19 lakh 98 thousand 509 students had registered for the board examinations this time, out of which 10 lakh 16 thousand 963 students appeared in the 10th examination. Out of these, how many students appeared in the examination and how many were absent, its information will be made public by the board after the release of the examination results.
It is worth noting that the board examinations were conducted between 6 March to 9 April 2025. Now all eyes are on the exam results, the re-checking process can be started only after its release. Students have been advised to keep an eye on the official website and instructions of the board, as no official information or application date has been released regarding the re-checking process yet.
There is enthusiasm among students and parents about this decision. It is expected that this initiative will prove to be an important step towards increasing transparency and giving fair results to the students.
