Air India Airlines has made a new announcement for its passengers. The airline is going to start the facility of premium economy class for its passengers on some domestic routes. This facility will be started by Air India from July 2024. Till now Vistara is the only Indian airline that provides premium economy service to its passengers with domestic flights.

According to the latest report by the news agency PTI, the decision being taken by the company is being taken to make the journey of the passengers convenient.
Giving information about this, Air India Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Campbell Wilson said that the introduction of three-class cabins and interior renovation in Air India's narrow-body fleet is special in improving the flying experience.
He said that the narrow-body fleet which operates on domestic and short-haul international networks complements the wide-body experience.
This facility will now be available for all other wide-body planes apart from the A350 fleet and new B777s. Because they will be refitted in the next two years.
Air India's A320neo aircraft will now provide a new business class, an all-new premium economy, and a new economy cabin experience on local and short-haul international routes.
The airline will now provide premium economy seats on the Delhi Chandigarh-Delhi and Delhi Bengaluru-Delhi routes.
The Tata Group-owned airline said that it had prepared two new A320neo aircraft in three-class configurations.
There are 8 seats in business class, 24 seats with extra legroom in premium economy, and 132 seats in economy.
Air India intends to implement a three-class arrangement throughout its entire full-service narrow-body fleet by next year.
Existing aircraft are now being gradually introduced for repair, while new aircraft joining the fleet will be equipped with the new Air India experience.
Earlier this month, Wilson said that Air India would refit more than 100 aircraft, including 40 wide-body aircraft.
According to information provided by the company, the new business cabin has 40-inch ergonomic seats. These have a 7-inch deep recline, an adjustable armrest, footrest and backrest, and a tray table that can be opened at the press of a button. It includes a PED holder and has multiple charging ports.
The new Premium Economy class features larger seats with four-way headrests, a wider seat pitch of 32 inches with a 4-inch recline, and other features like PED holders and USB charging ports.
