Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari said on Friday that the world is currently in a decisive phase and the trend of change is strongly in India's favour. The Air Chief Marshal said that India's emergence in the Global South is an important point in international affairs.

Air Chief addressed a seminar on 'Global South Challenges and Opportunities'. The Global South refers to countries often referred to as developing, least developed or underdeveloped, located primarily in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

The Air Chief said that the country's emergence from the colonial shadow and emerging as a major global focal point with a rich historical landscape has thrown up many challenges and opportunities. He said understanding the complex dynamics is important to advance a future shaped by interconnectedness. The 20th Subroto Mukherjee Symposium was organized by the Center for Air Power Studies.

On this occasion, he said that when we are about to fly in the new skies, air power will undoubtedly play an important role as an important factor of national power and will serve as a symbol of national power and a means of peace and cooperation.

Air Chief Marshal Choudhary said the Air Force can act as a catalyst towards progress, strengthen strategic partnerships and collectively advance the Global South. The Air Force Chief said that our air power partnership is important to address common security challenges and ensure regional stability. He said that we have increased the scope of training and cooperation with these countries.

On global developments, the Air Chief said the landscape of international relations is constantly changing and traditional power structures are being challenged. He said the threat of global conflict looms, driven by ideological divisions, resource scarcity and climate change. This has created interconnected challenges such as economic inequality and resource exploitation.
