They demanded a ransom of $ 68,000 which is 57.21 lakh INR from Star Health, the country's largest health insurance company. He sent an email to the managing director and head of the company demanding this money. The market cap of Star Health is four billion dollars approximately. Currently, the company is facing a reputation and business crisis.

According to media reports, sensitive data of customers was leaked by the hacker through Telegram Chatbots and a website. This ranges from tax details to medical claim papers. The company has started an internal investigation. In its words, it is a victim of a 'targeted malicious cyber attack'. Telegram has refused to share account details or permanently ban accounts linked to the hacker.

In the process, Indian stock exchanges had sought clarification from Star over reports that the company was probing an allegation that its chief security officer was involved in a data leak. The company asked for "assistance" from Indian cybersecurity authorities in helping to identify the hacker.
