Veteran e-commerce company Amazon has now decided to shut down its food delivery business after Edtech business in India. According to reports, Amazon told its restaurant partners on Friday (November 25) that it will shut down its food delivery service from December 29. Amazon started the food delivery business in May 2020. Amazon has informed about this by mailing its restaurant partners. In this mail, Amazon said, 'This decision means that after this date you will no longer receive orders from customers through Amazon Food. However, you will continue to receive orders till the last date and we hope that you will continue to fulfill those orders. Amazon has promised its restaurant partners that it will meet their payments and other contractual obligations on time. The report states that restaurants will have access to all Amazon tools and reports till January 31, 2023. The company will also provide support for any compliance-related issues till March 31 of the coming year. Meanwhile, regarding its other operations in the country, the company said, 'We are committed to the Indian market. Going forward, we will continue to invest in B2B offerings such as grocery, smartphone & consumer electronics, fashion & beauty and Amazon business. Earlier, Amazon on Thursday (November 24) decided to shut down its online learning vertical 'Amazon Academy' in India. Amazon launched 'Amazon Academy' in India in early 2021. Amazon provides virtual coaching and a 'test preparation' segment on its platform for entrance exams like IIT-JEE and NEET. The company said in a statement, 'Amazon will shut down the operations of 'Amazon Academy' in a phased manner from August 2023, when the current batch completes its test preparation module. We are dedicated to our customers and want to assure them that this decision will have no impact on our services.
