After CWC meeting, Rahul Gandhi said- 'Most parties of India Alliance are in favor of caste census'
Rahul Gandhi on Caste Census: After the CWC meeting, Rahul Gandhi addressed a press conference. He said that most of the parties of India Alliance have supported the caste census.
Congress Working Committee meeting was held on Monday. Many senior leaders were involved in this. After the meeting, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed a press conference, in which he expressed agreement regarding the caste census. Rahul Gandhi said in his statement, 'The Congress Working Committee has supported the idea of caste census in the country with a unanimous decision, this is a progressive step. Our Chief Ministers (Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, and Rajasthan) are also considering this and taking steps.
Taking aim at the Bharatiya Janata Party, Rahul Gandhi further said that out of 10 Chief Ministers, only one CM comes from the OBC category. He said, 'PM is unable to conduct caste census. 3 out of our 4 CMs are from the OBC category. Out of 10 CMs of the BJP, only one CM is from the OBC category. How many CMs of the BJP are from the OBC category? The Prime Minister does not work for the OBCs but to divert them from the main issues.
In this press conference, Rahul Gandhi also mentioned the upcoming assembly elections in five states. He said that the Congress government is making a comeback in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. BJP government is going to Madhya Pradesh and their (Bharat Rashtra Samithi) government is going to Telangana.
After the meeting of the Congress Working Committee, Rajasthan Deputy CM Sachin Pilot while talking to the media said that caste census will be conducted in Rajasthan also. The government has passed an order regarding this. He further said that this was also supported in the CWC meeting held today.
