Afghanistan's problems may increase, Britain cuts 59 percent funds for Kabul

Ever since the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan, the situation there is getting worse day by day. Meanwhile, Afghanistan has suffered a major setback.
According to the report, the humanitarian assistance provided by the Official Development Assistance (ODA) to Afghanistan has been reduced by 59 percent. The UK Parliament has been informed about this on Saturday.
The statement said the Equality Impact Assessment reveals what this really means for some of the world's poorest countries, which are facing one of the worst humanitarian crises. Yemen saw a 45 percent cut in the UK's ODA allocation and a 76 percent cut for Afghanistan.
However, the FCDO has sought a reduction in these deductions. The result for Afghanistan is still a cut of 59 percent, local media have been quoted as saying.
The report claimed that female doctors in Afghanistan raised concerns that aid cuts would increase maternal mortality. A doctor Najmul Sama Shafazo said that WHO should not be negligent in this regard. Also, other organizations which are active in helping women and children should not be negligent in this and need to attract international assistance.
It is worth mentioning that since the Taliban took over Afghanistan in August 2021, the situation of people, especially women, in Afghanistan has worsened as the country is going through a massive humanitarian crisis. People in Afghanistan are facing a shortage of food and infrastructure and the condition of women in the country has worsened.
