Aditya Thackeray has openly challenged Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde to contest the elections. Aditya's statement came on Friday during an event of Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena. Aditya challenged all 40 rebel MLAs and 13 MPs of Shiv Sena to resign from their posts and contest fresh elections.

The former minister said that all the machinery and kiosks should be put to the test, and not a single Shiv Sainik will be sold.
Significantly, Eknath Shinde became the Chief Minister in June 2022 after toppling the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government.
