Action will be taken against government employees who criticize the government: J&K administration will send notices to employees who write against the government on social media
Action will now be taken against government employees who criticize government policies in Jammu and Kashmir. The administration has instructed the officials to identify such employees and send notices to them. Chief Secretary AK Mehta took this decision after a meeting on 17 February. News agency PTI has given this information by quoting sources.
In fact, on February 17, Chief Secretary AK Mehta had a meeting with the administrative secretaries. It came to light in the meeting that some government employees were criticizing the policies and achievements of the government. Not only this, they are also writing against government policies on social media.
After this, Mehta instructed all administrative secretaries to keep an eye on such posts on social media. The General Administration Department (GAD) has been directed to inform about the employees making such posts and issue notices to the employees. After the instructions were issued by the Chief Secretary, all the DMs have been informed about this.
In the year 2016, the central government told the employees to avoid criticizing the policies of the government. The government warned employees that disciplinary action would be taken against those who criticized government policies.
After this, in the year 2007, the Rajasthan government issued a similar circular. It was said in the circular that the officers and employees who criticize any work or policy of the state government on social media will be given a charge sheet directly. Then there was a BJP government in the state and the then Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje gave it the green signal.
