About 1.14 lakh posts are vacant in central armed forces like BSF, CRPF and CISF, government informed in Rajya Sabha

Union minister Ajay Kumar Mishra told the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday that 1,14,245 posts are vacant in central police organizations like CRPF, BSF, and Delhi Police. Union Minister Mishra said that in 2023, advertisements have been published for about 31,879 posts, and out of these, 1,126 posts have been filled.
Ministry of Home Affairs and its organizations, which include Central Armed Police Forces such as Border Security Force, Sashastra Seema Bal, Central Reserve Police Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force, Assam Rifles and Central Industrial Security Force, and Central Police Organisations. He said in a written reply that including Delhi Police, about 1,14,245 posts are currently vacant.
Of the vacant posts, 3,075 are in Group 'A', 15,861 in Group 'B' and 95,309 in Group 'C'. Of these, 16,356 posts are for the Scheduled Castes, 8,759 for the Scheduled Tribes, 21,974 for the Other Backward Classes, 7,394 for the Economically Weaker Section, and 59,762 for the general category.
The Minister said that recruitment to vacant posts is a continuous process and as and when vacancies arise, advertisements are published to fill up the posts, and appointment letters are issued after completion of the recruitment process.
The Ministry regularly reviews recruitment progress to ensure vacancies are filled. Mishra said that the posts are filled in a time-bound manner.
