Aamir's film 'Lal Singh Chaddha' got the honour

Actor Aamir Khan's 'Lal Singh Chaddha' has been released in theatres 2 days ago on August 11. The film is getting mixed reviews from the audience and critics. Many people are also demanding to boycott the film, while many people are in support of it. Recently Oscar Academy has also praised 'Lal Singh Chaddha' by sharing a special video on social media.
In the special short video shared by Oscar Academy, some special scenes from both the films 'Lal Singh Chaddha' and 'Forrest Gump' have been compared. The video shows how 'Lal Singh Chaddha' has once again recreated the magic of Forrest Gump. 'Lal Singh Chaddha' is the official Hindi remake of Tom Hanks' 'Forrest Gump' released in 1994. Apart from Aamir, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya are also in the lead role in 'Lal Singh Chaddha', directed by Advait Chandan.
Sharing this video, Oscar Academy wrote in the caption, "'Forrest Gump' VS 'Lal Singh Chaddha'. The story of Robert Gemeks and Eric Roth changed the world. It was adopted by Advait Chandan and Atul Kulkarni in India and ' Laal Singh Chaddha'. Tom Hanks is played by Aamir Khan and he might have become famous with this title."
'Forrest Gump' won 6 Oscar Awards, this film got nominations in 13 categories. A comparison video of both films was also shared from the official page of Forrest Gump before the Oscar Academy.
However, despite the accolades, 'Lal Singh Chaddha' is not performing well at the box office. The business of the film has seen a decline of 40% on the second day as compared to the first day. Made on a budget of 180 crores, the film earned only Rs 8.5 crores on the second day (Friday). On the first day, the film collected a collection of 12 crores. Accordingly, the film has been able to collect only Rs 20.5 crores at the box office in 2 days from India.
'Lal Singh Chaddha' was released in theatres on August 11 on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. The film got 3,000 thousand screens. But, many shows of the film have also been cancelled after the poor performance at the box office.
Trade analysts expect the first weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and August 15 (Monday) to benefit from the Independence Day holiday and the film's business may see a boost. If this film does an all-time business of more than 180 crores, then it will be considered a hit.
