With the beginning of the election year in Rajasthan, the government has started trying to please the general public. In this episode, the Rajasthan government has decided to give free milk every day from the new academic session to more than 70 lakh students studying in government schools of the state. On Tuesday, the Rajasthan government extended the time period of the Bal Gopal Yojana by 4 days.
In such a situation, any student will go to school. He will be provided free milk on academic days (6 days a week from Monday to Saturday). On Tuesday, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot issued financial approval of Rs 864 crore for this scheme.
Rajasthan School Education Council Commissioner Mohan Lal Yadav said that under the Bal Gopal Yojana in government schools, 150 ml of milk made from milk powder is given to the children of class 1 to 5 and 200 ml of milk powder to the children of class 6 to 8 during the prayer meeting. Will be given later.
Under this, milk will be delivered to schools with the help of the Rajasthan Co-operative Dairy Federation. In this scheme, the responsibility for the distribution of milk will be of the school management committee. While the quality of milk will be checked by the Federation and SMC (School Management Committee).
Under the Bal Gopal Yojana of the Government of Rajasthan, school children who study in classes I to VIII. Till now they were given hot milk only 2 days a week. For which Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had made a provision of Rs 476.44 crore in the year 2022 budget. At the same time, in the election year, the Chief Minister doubled the budget to Rs 864 crore.
Along with this, the government has also started preparing to provide free school uniforms to children studying in government schools. In such a situation, it is believed that this time the government can give the money for sewing along with the uniform to the students.
At present, under the Mid Day Meal Scheme, food is provided in the schools every day according to the menu. Vegetable roti is served on Monday, lentil rice on Tuesday, lentil roti, salted rice, and khichdi containing vegetables on Wednesday, lentil roti on Friday, and vegetable roti on Saturday. Apart from this, students are also fed seasonal fruits once a week.
