68 lakh fighter drugs worth 110 crores seized from Mundra port, were being exported to African countries
Gujarat: After these tablets were found from the front of the container, a detailed investigation was conducted. During the investigation, undeclared medicines were found in the boxes, which were labeled Traming 225 and Royal-225. Both contained 225 mg Tramadol Hydrochloride tablets.
The Customs Department seized 68 lakh Tramadol tablets from two containers at Mundra Port in the Kutch district of Gujarat. Their value is said to be Rs 110 crore. These containers were exported from the West African countries Sierra Leone and Niger. Tramadol is known as a fighter drug. Actually, ISIS terrorists use this tablet to stay awake till late.
A release on the seizure said, "Based on intelligence inputs from the Special Intelligence and Investigation Branch of Mundra Customs, the consignment of a Rajkot-based exporter was intercepted and inspected at the port on Sunday. In official documents, the exporter stated that the shipment contained Diclofenac and Gebedol tablets."
