The floods in 29 Assamese districts have impacted 21,13,204 persons overall. 52 people have died as a result of the Assamese floods, and six more people died on Thursday, according to the state emergency management administration. On Friday, Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, declared that the situation regarding floods had improved due to decreasing water levels. Sarma told reporters in Dibrugarh, "However, areas where embankments have been breached continue to be impacted by the floods." Sarma examined the flooded regions of Dibrugarh and discussed possible solutions with locals and professionals.

After the water resides, we'll see what needs to be done," Sarma continued. Sarma had visited the Majuli island and inundated parts of Guwahati on Thursday. According to a July 4 official dispatch from the Assam State Disaster Management Authority, major rivers have continued to overflow above normal levels, affecting 21,13,204 people across 29 districts. According to news agency PTI, Dhubri, Darrang, and Cachar were among the districts most severely affected.

Over 1,000 humans and 635 animals have been rescued, while nearly 40,000 people have sought safety in 698 relief camps.
