'51 passengers included in no-fly list', Central Government said - more than seven thousand flights canceled till May

As of July 1 this year, 51 passengers have been included in the airlines' no-fly list for bad behavior. Minister of State for Civil Aviation Muralidhar Mohol has given this information in the Rajya Sabha. He said that till May 31 this year, domestic airlines canceled 7030 scheduled flights. Mohol said that 16000 remote pilot certificates have been issued for drone operations in the country.

'51 passengers included in no-fly list', Central Government said - more than seven thousand flights canceled till May

The Civil Aviation Ministry said on Monday that as of July 1 this year, 51 passengers have been included in the airlines' no-fly list for bad behavior. Minister of State for Civil Aviation Muralidhar Mohol told the Rajya Sabha that 300 passengers have been placed on the no-fly list in the last five years. Also, Mohol told the Rajya Sabha that 16,000 remote pilot certificates have been issued for drone operations in the country.

Giving information regarding flights, he said that till May 31 this year, domestic airlines canceled 7,030 scheduled flights. At the same time, in view of the recent incidents of roof collapse at three airports, the government has asked airport operators to get a third-party audit of the structural stability of buildings and related infrastructure done.

They have also been asked to inspect the electrical and technical aspects of buildings before monsoon every year. Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu said that the ministry has constituted an expert committee comprising IIT Delhi engineers who are probing the Delhi airport incident and will send its report.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has set up internal working groups to look into various kinds of issues relating to the operation of electric air taxis and frame appropriate rules. "The groups would study various rules published by different countries and civil aviation authorities,".

The industry will look for expert opinions and work out suitable norms for letting the operating rules concerning electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft come into effect in India.
