The new Mahindra Scorpio-N has finally been launched in the domestic market, the long-awaited SUV. Equipped with an attractive look, strong engine, and advanced features, the starting price of this SUV has been fixed at Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The company has not only given this SUV a new look and design but has also included many such features which are not available in other SUVs in the segment like Tata Safari and Hyundai Alcazar. Today we will introduce you to the same features in our Five Things series, so let's know in detail about those top 5 unit features-
1) - You will get a warning as soon as you fall asleep:
Mahindra has tried to incorporate every safety feature in this SUV to make it a value for money. It also gets the Driver Drowsiness Detection feature, which is a first in the mid-size SUV segment in India. The system alerts when there is no input from the driver during long drives and will be extremely helpful on long and tiring highway rides. Sometimes the driver gets sleepy while driving and stops responding, in which case this feature gets activated and gives a warning to the driver.
2)- This special feature of Alexa:
In the new Mahindra Scorpio-N, the company has included the Alexa-enabled what3words feature, which is being given in an SUV for the first time in the world. This feature proves to be very useful for navigation while driving.
This feature divides all locations into 3m x 3m squares and navigates them to take you to the right location. For example, you can also drive your car to the exact location by pronouncing the name of the narrow streets of the city. Usually, in regular navigation, the names of small streets are not heard properly by the device, giving the driver navigation to another location.
3)- Ladder Frame Chassis:
In a segment full of monocoque SUVs, the Mahindra Scorpio-N differentiates itself with its body-on-frame or ladder frame chassis construction. This frame setup is more robust and extremely adaptable to any use, while its maintenance cost is very low. This will help the new Scorpio-N attract buyers who want an on-the-go SUV and enjoy the luxury of off-roading along with driving.
4)- Four-Wheel Drive:
In the new Scorpio-N, the company has given a rear-wheel-drive setup, which means that the power of the engine goes to the rear wheels and the wheel spins. However, the top diesel variant is also offered with an optional four-wheel drive (4WD) configuration. As of now, none of its rivals has been offered a four-wheel-drive setup even as an option, which makes the Scorpio-N even better than the rest.
5)- Option in Engine:
The company has introduced the new Mahindra Scorpio with both petrol and diesel engine options. In its petrol variant, the company's 2.0-liter capacity metallic turbocharged petrol engine has been used, which generates strong power of 203PS and torque of 370Nm. While the diesel variant has a mHawk turbo-diesel engine with a capacity of 2.2 liters, which is available in two different tunes.
Its lower-tuned version generates 132PS of power and 300Nm of torque. Whereas the higher tuned version generates you 175 PS power and 370 Nm torque. While rivals like the Harrier and Safari only come with a diesel engine, the SUV offers both engine options to the customers.
