In an encounter with security personnel on Wednesday in Sidhra, Jammu and Kashmir, four terrorists were killed.
In a "chance encounter" with security personnel on Wednesday, at least four terrorgists were slain. This morning a shootout broke out in the Sidhra bypass section of the Jammu-Srinagar national highway close to Tawi bridge amid thick fog.
Security personnel pursued and halted the truck as it was being driven by the militants toward Kashmir's Sidhra checkpoint. Terrorists began heavy fire from inside the truck as the police began their search for them.
"A truck moving into Kashmir was seen making a strange movement. It was pursued and stopped close to the Sidhra checkpoint, but the driver escaped under the pretext that he had to go to the bathroom, according to the J-K ADGP, who was quoted by PTI.
The truck caught fire and the terrorists were murdered in the ensuing encounter.
The place from where the terrorists infiltrated is the subject of an investigation. The officer predicted that after searching the truck, a clear picture would emerge. The truck's evading driver is being sought for.
Over 45 minutes of heavy gunfire between the two sides were also marked by several explosions that appeared to be the result of grenade throwing. The vehicle, which was filled with husk and was totally destroyed in the shooting, was observed blowing smoke.
