ATS and Indian Coast Guard (ICG) intercepted a Pakistani boat Al Sohli near Gujarat's maritime border based on intelligence inputs. 10 Pakistani nationals have also been arrested along with 40 kg of drugs from the boat. According to the Indian Coast Guard, the value of the drugs is 300 crores. At the same time, 10 pistols and 210 bullets have also been recovered from the boat.
The Indian Coast Guard told that the arrested Pakistanis are being interrogated and the connection to the drugs network is being probed. At the same time, after this action, the Coast Guard deployed its ship ICGS Arinjay near the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL).
The Gujarat ATS and the Indian Coast Guard conducted a joint operation on the intervening night of 25-26 December. A Coast Guard official told that during the joint operation Pakistani fishing boat Al Sohli has been apprehended in Gujarat. The boat is being brought to Okha for further investigation.
According to the official, for the first time weapons along with drugs have been recovered at Gujarat's maritime border. The recovery of drugs worth about 300 crores from the Pakistani boat Al Sohli is considered a big success. 10 Pakistani smugglers are being interrogated. This operation was carried out on the basis of intelligence information.
