Google Launches AI Mode in India With Restaurant Booking Feature via Search
Google has launched new 'agentive' capabilities for AI Mode in India, allowing users to search for restaurants from multiple sources and book reservations in a single step, instead of multiple steps.
Google has made an announcement about the launch of agent-like functions on its AI Mode in India. The function enables users to directly search and make reservations at restaurants via Search. According to the tech giant, the aim is to make real-life tasks more efficient and easier so users can complete their tasks faster. Google claims that these new agentive capabilities can handle multi-step queries and reduce the effort required to manually search across different platforms.
The company stated in a press note that with this update, AI Mode can process detailed restaurant booking requests by understanding a variety of conditions. These conditions include party size, date, time, location, and food preferences. This system scans multiple sources in real-time to identify the right option, rather than searching across different apps and websites separately.
According to Google, the feature has the ability to look up live availability on multiple platforms, collate the information, and present a shortlist of relevant restaurants. In case of satisfactory results, the feature offers a direct link to make reservations without any additional hassle. Google claims that making a reservation at a restaurant has become a one-step process.
