2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V launched in Indian market, gets dual-channel ABS

The Xtreme 160R 4V was introduced in 2023 which brings many big changes over the previous model and the 2024 edition is even more feature-packed. This sports commuter has now been given dual-channel ABS. We felt that there should have been a dual-channel while driving the 2023 Extreme 160R last year, but the company has now offered it.

Hero MotoCorp has already geared itself up for the festive season. The company is reportedly going to launch many new products in the market over some coming few weeks. The world's biggest 2-wheeler manufacturer got ready for this festive season by launching the 2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V, that comes with several significant updates.

The Extreme 160R 4V was introduced in model year 2023 with major changes over the previous model, which means that this 2024 version probably shows up even more feature-laden than the last. A teaser video on Hero's social media introduces a new black and bronze paint scheme colorway and refreshed body graphics.

The sports commuter now gets dual-channel ABS; the current offering is only available with single-channel ABS, something we felt should have been dual-channel while driving the 2023 Extreme 160R last year. The 2024 Extreme 160R 4V also gets a newly designed pillion seat for better comfort. Hero has gone back to a single-seat setup instead of the split seats seen in the current model.

Additional features include a drag timer for 0-60 kmph and 0-402 meter sprints. endings The updated Xtreme 160R also gets an cramped first segment panic brake alert system, with the rear lights flashing under emergent braking.

There is no information about any updates in the powertrain. The Hero Xtreme 160R 4V is powered by a 163.2 cc, single-cylinder, air and oil-cooled engine that produces 16.6 bhp and 14.6 Nm of peak torque. The motor is paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The bike features USD forks at the front and a preload adjustable mono-shock at the rear, while braking performance comes from disc brakes on both sides. The Xtreme 160R rides on 17-inch alloy wheels.

The Hero Xtreme 160R has been launched in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 1.38 lakh. This motorcycle will compete with the Bajaj Pulsar N160, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Suzuki Gixer 155 and other motorcycles in this segment.
