117 Indian athletes will participate in Paris Olympics 2024, IOA has released the final list
Paris Olympics 2024: The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has released the final list of athletes competing in the Paris Olympics. Under this, a total of 117 athletes are included in the Indian team.
The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has announced the complete list of competitors competing in the Paris Olympics. The Indian team consists of 117 athletes overall. However, the number is lower this time around when compared to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. There were 119 athletes in Tokyo, and India won seven medals. The competitors will be accompanied by 140 other persons, including support personnel and officials. The government will provide funding to 72 members of the support staff to assist athletes during the games.
The IOA has received a letter from the Sports Ministry, stating that there is a limited number of places to stay in the Games Village. As per the guidelines set by the Paris Organizing Committee, apart from the Indian athletes, only 67 people have been allowed to stay in the sports village. This will include 11 IOA officials and five members of the medical team.
The IOA has said that due to the limited number of people in the sports village, accommodation for the rest of the support staff and officials will be arranged in hotels and other places.
