10-year-old dyslexic girl raped by principal in Bengaluru, police arrested under POCSO
In Bengaluru, a school principal has been accused of raping a 10-year-old dyslexic student. The incident took place around 11.30 am on Thursday inside an empty classroom of the school located in Varthur police station limits. Police registered a case under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) and section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code.
A 10-year-old dyslexic girl was allegedly raped by her principal inside a school premises in Bengaluru. The police gave this information on Friday. The 65-year-old accused, who is also the owner of the school, has been arrested in connection with the incident, they said. The incident took place around 11.30 am on Thursday inside an empty classroom of the school located in Varthur police station limits.
According to the police, the girl was lured into the classroom by her principal who allegedly raped her. After returning home, the victim narrated her ordeal to her mother who took her to a nearby hospital for medical examination. Based on a complaint by the victim's mother, a case was registered under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) and Indian Penal Code section 376 (rape) in connection with the incident, a senior police officer said.
"Our team arrested the school principal on Thursday," he said. Police said the victim's mother is a homemaker and her father passed away in 2020 due to health issues.
